Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership is private sector-led and in partnership with public sector its role is to drive the economic strategy for the area, determining priorities and undertaking activities to drive growth and create meaningful, well paid local jobs.

Our Employment and Skills Strategy acknowledges the importance of Apprenticeships in growing and developing our local workforce to meet current and future skills demands. And we are passionate about the benefits that Apprenticeships can bring to both individuals and employers. Our staff also have considerable expertise having worked on the funding and policy of Apprenticeships, but also directly with employers, careers advisers, schools, individuals and Apprenticeship providers.

At the Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency (CAA) we promote apprenticeships in Cornwall. We also offer a service to businesses who are interested in growing their workforce with local talent, helping them to understand the benefits of apprenticeships, and ensuring the right Standard is matched to their role. The CAA team have a wealth of experience in apprenticeships.

As part of our commitment to providing a high quality apprenticeship experience, we can support potential apprentices throughout the recruitment process by providing advice & guidance followed by mentoring & coaching, together with employability skills. We are passionate about apprenticeships, and can see the many transferrable skills which allow apprentices to progress in a career. The CAA is particularly proud to be an Ambassador of SWAAN, the South West Apprenticeships Ambassador Network.

The Devon and Cornwall Training Providers Network Ltd (DCTPN), is a not-for-profit organisation which covers Devon and Cornwall, providing a voice for the training provider sector, as well as giving practical support and partnership opportunities for members. DCTPN enjoys a diverse membership, with 50+ members, and includes, three universities, six colleges of further education, and a wide range of independent training providers and national stakeholders.

Passionate about life long learning and education, DCTPN Managing Director Sharron Robbie, was awarded an MBE for her services to Apprenticeships & Skills. She is a committed Apprentice Champion and works tirelessly to promote and raise awareness of Apprenticeship opportunities. She has recently taken up an additional post as Apprenticeship Lead for Devon County Council, is a member of the Heart of the South West Skills Advisory Panel, Chairs the DCC Skills Task & Finish Group, and sits on the HOTSWLEP Digital Skills Panel. Through these roles, she ensures that Apprenticeships are very much part of any planned, future developments across the region.
